Sunny Side’s Food Pantry was established in 2012 by Bonnie Corley and Loretta Gregg. What began as a small outreach project with goods stored in a 10 x 10 closet has grown into a community ministry serving 100+ families each month.
After a monthly trip for approximately 2000 pounds of food from Midwest Food Bank, a team of volunteers lovingly and efficiently spends hours each week, sorting, bagging, and re-shelving goods to keep them fresh for distribution.
The Food Pantry is Sunny Side’s main outreach to the community. No one is turned away, although a photo ID is required. Missions Coordinator Loretta Gregg states, “We’re doing God’s work and God doesn’t turn people away, so we don’t either. “
